achines make us more efficient—at least if they’re used correctly.
A warehouse management system (WMS) saves human labor in a number of areas. First, picking is automatically directed electronically. Management time goes way down. Time searching for items goes down, because the system directs pickers to a location where inventory is available.
Quality checks are no longer performed downstream to make sure the pickers got things right. Accuracy checks are made on the spot by scanning locations and boxes.
You will have no more inventories. You can spot check through cycle counting, but a WMS tracks your inventory automatically, every day. You’ll never have to shut the warehouse down for an inventory again.
